Mike Woodruff General William - well done, great pic! What is the eastbound counterpart of this train - I guess it would be M-SHNS on KCS but what is its NS symbol? Thanks! 12/17/2010 10:19:44 PM
William H. Davis Jr. General Thanks Brian, You're correct, M- SHNS on KCS & 340 on NS. When extra's run they're W39 & W40 on NS. This is one of my favorite trains to catch on NS. Usually departs Irondale, Al. ( Norris Yard ) between 12:00 pm to dark. Lately 339 has been running later than it used to. Used to always be the 1st train that ran after Amtrak P019 around noon, but lately it has been running after Amtrak P020 after 2:00 pm, sometimes even after dark. 340 is usually very early morning into Irondale & if running late can be seen as one of the 1st trains of the morning or sometimes as late as noon, but for the most part I don't see 340 leading me to believe it runs in darkness most of the time, like early morning darkness 12/18/2010 8:05:31 AM
