BNSF 925 leading empty coal with another ATSF unit.
Description:
Saw previous photos of this locomotive being stuck in storage. Apparently it's alive and running now. Here it is passing Railroad Ridge, a campfire site at LOMC (Lutheran Outdoor Ministries Center) and one of my personal favorite spots for photos. This locomotive sure has seen better days, but I'm glad to see it leading.

Description:
Sitting near Railroad Ridge, a campfire pit at Lutheran Outdoor Ministries Center (LOMC), I saw this. A beautiful consist leading a rare empty freight train through the area, back westward.

BNSF 868 meets BNSF 5036, 4521 W, Oregon, Ill, 8.24.2013
Description:
While waiting for a historical society meeting to take place in the CB&Q Depot in Oregon, Illinois, we waited as trains passed. This locomotive was parked for a few days with sand cars behind it, and the end of the track in front of it. Not sure why or how it got into that spot, but my dad sent me photos of it on Tuesday, and on Saturday it was still here. I have some photos of it from inside the depot, and some shots of the Savanna Eola departing from inside as well, but over all, this is a true heritage unit, in an unlikely place. The passing train was a mixed freight as well headed westward.

BNSF 8290, BNSF 938 E, Oregon, Illinois, Feb.22.2014
Description:
With the dynamic brakes roaring as this long freight train crawled down the hill in the siding at Oregon during sun set, BNSF 8290 led a Dash 8, still in ATSF paint through the darkening skies as the sun disappeared and parked under the IL RT 2 bridge. I waited a long while for this train to show up, and I found out that a relative of mine was at the throttle. It was super cold as I waited for this train, and I chose this location in Oregon because they installed lights in the yard on the switches, which would come in handy for these night shots.

BNSF short on power!
Description:
It looks funnier than it really is. BNSF 8358 pushes Leviathan 63 north through BNSF's Galesburg Classification Yard in preparation for the 2015 Railroad Days. Notice the orange mesh fencing on the rear handrail of 8358. In the foreground, BNSF 1817 had just pulled up, and will soon shove back to grab a cut of cars off the hump tracks.
